This patented shovel design is a back saver! It costs a little more than the “teeter-totter” single point shovel. Don’t worry though, think of the money you’ll save on pain killers! The main strengths of the Hybrid Shovel are demonstrated in the video below. My shovel, the Hybrid, outperforms the old fashioned pointed tip garden shovel in all categories!

Hybrid® Shovel Strengths

Edging

Beds are a Breeze.

The Nashville Notch™ blade design makes edging a snap. Subtracting the single point of a traditional garden shovel results in an additional point. The spade like flat blade when combined with the dual points of a traditional garden shovel cuts thru sod with ease. Either “chop” down with the shovel, or step down to produce a straight or curved bed edging

Scooping

Scoop like a Pro

A typical garden shovel snags when scooping mulch or gravel. The Hybrid Shovel with its flat blade and two points slides across grass without snagging. Unlike the spade, the Hybrid has sloped blade sides which channels the material onto the blade, without dropping off the blade.

Digging Roots

Root with Ease

The Nashville Notch™ sits on top of the root and won’t slip off like a Pointy Tipped shovel. Step down on the Hybrid and it cuts right through most roots encountered in your yard.

Back Saver Step Height

< Fatigue = > Digging

Subtracting the single point cuts down 2-3 inches of leg lift (HerBrid is 3” shorter), resulting in less leg and back fatigue.
